That’s the only way to account for BD editions of Tokyo Drifter and Branded to Kill.
These announcements are pretty bland for me, but it’ll be nice to see a BD of Belle De Jour. Haven’t seen that one in eight or nine years.
Yeah, I have Belle De Jour on DVD, but it’s lousy.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed then.
I’m still waiting for the day when we get a glorious Criterion release of the Corman Poe films as a box set.
And, having just seen MYSTERIES OF LISBON, I’m hoping Criterion snatches that film up, too.
Mysteries of Lisbon is already spoken for (due out in December), so I doubt we’ll be seeing that one on Criterion.
Shame.
hah I just noticed the little TM next to Godzilla. The tail and body dont quite look connected. Maybe theyre trying to avoid showing the face so it doesnt look too cheesy.
I’m curious how people heard about Anatomy of a Murder. While this rumor is true, I wonder how people heard about it.
Did somebody saay GODZILLA in Criterion?
I’d love to see that. ;)
Did somebody say GODZILLA in Criterion?
I’d love to see that. ;)

It’s called Wacky Skinny Cows… anyone know of a movie that features skinny cows?
A lot of other forums are guessing “Satantango”. However, I don’t remember the cows being unusually skinny.
EDIT: “Hungary” cows?
I would LOVE if they would put Satantango on Blu.
They sure aren’t making this easy anymore. Gone are the days of the literal images.
Wonder if the type of cow is important?
Oh, please GOD, let it be SATANTANGO — I’ll forgive them for BROADCAST NEWS.
Someone on facebook suggested POOR COW.
The 1969 Iranian film, “The Cow”?
Can you imagine Satantango on Criterion? I wonder how many people could possibly complain about that?
Are the cows in Satantango spotted?’
EDIT: Some people are saying Out 1 for some reason.
YET ANOTHER EDIT: It may be for a Jansco Eclipse Set.

Is the B&N sale really ending the day before Rushmore is released??
Damn.
‘It may be for a Jansco Eclipse Set.’

‘Some people are saying Out 1 for some reason.’

I hope the cows are for a surprise HUD release. It is a great film and should be in Criterion library. But since it is a U.S. film without subtitles you all will probably even bash it.
Easy there Brad…I’m not a snob and I can’t stand BROADCAST NEWS. It’s destroyed by Holly Hunters annoying, self conscious performance.
It’s most likely a Miklós Jancsó Eclipse set ladies and gentlemen.
Look at all these “Hungary” cows.
Why not a mainline release of the Miklos Jancso film in question that features cows?
Q: Why not a mainline release of the Miklos Jansco film in question that features cows?
A: Market research.
“Movies with cows” is way too big a net to cast.
A Criterion Edition of Twister?
j/k

I’m sure it based on sales projections. Their official position has always been:
“It is going to be quite a while before the Blu-ray marketplace can support many of the titles Criterion releases on DVD.”
But they seem to finally be moving in that direction as the format gains traction.
