Well (according to criterioncast and blu-ray.com) we actually got word from Del Toro that Cronos will be getting a December release.
wow@new Hollywood boxset. The dvd transfer of Marvin Gardens was pretty average from memory, ditto Five easy Pieces. I would definitely pick that up.
Cronos, maybe. good film, but i don’t watch it much.
there s a possibility that : “solaris” its going blu?
CRONOS
FUCK YEAH!!!
Criterion is working on SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS now see picture on their facebook. Also there is a film they are working on is a scene that some thinks it’s MOOLADE or Renoir’s THE RIVER or an indian film. Who can tell for sure. IF you know post it.
It is most likely Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited.

COVER ART FINALLY
Perfect. Awaits complaints
Wow, I really love that cover
so strong…
Cool, very cool.
This is great news – I love everything Malick has done except The New World (don’t flame me I think it’s a fine film at times, but the noble savage shtick pisses me off, the Jamestown segment has some questionable editing, and this time the voice over didn’t work for me – something I found magical in his other films).
All of his films look exquisite and will be lovely on Blu-. I think Criterion is coming out with Badlands too – is that correct?
I can’t wait to pop this in the Blu-ray player: “What’s this war in the heart of Nature?” – and away we go.
this is excellent
“badlands” should make a wonderful blu ray!
I’d buy that for a dollar.
i d buy that for us 30!
Has there been any news or rumors about the zatoichi blind swordsman films being released on dvd anytime in the near future from criterion? I ask because I am currently watching them now.
criterion has had them on hulu for a while
@Erik
I would doubt they would see a release, but it wouldnt be insane to hope for an eclipse boxed set sometime down the road. But there havent been any significant rumors or news pertaining to them.
It’s UP
THE DARJEELING LIMITED, THE MAGICIAN, HOUSE, PATHS OF GLORY

and Seven Samurai BD. First month of all BD releases?
Yep. The Transition must be complete. No more DVD exclusives.
What a month.
well, I wouldn’t say no more DVD exclusives. There still may be a couple contracts in place for DVD only such as the von Sternberg set.
omg!!!!!!!!!!!! best month ever!!!!!
i want all of them :)
I can not be more excited for “Paths of Glory” and the “Seven Samurai” blu. Oh man….
Where’s videodrome? :(
strawdawg
Guillermo del Toro’s Cronos is coming soon.
Maybe this isn’t news anymore.
