dead hand

I was in a supermarket the other day and saw the latest issue of WIRED magazine on the newsstand. I picked it up and flipped through it a bit and found this article on “DEAD HAND” a real life Soviet doomsday devise. The article said that “DEAD HAND” is still in operation and being upgraded to this day. Though I don’t know how much I should trust WIRED on an topic such as this.

I sure hope I’m selected to go underground!

Except I am not female, a government official, or a top member of the gene pool (cancer, heart disease, diabetes, you name it!). Bummer…
