Dead Man Blu-ray(Madman)

almost 2 years ago

just wanted to inform you guys/girls that Madman are releasing this great film—arguably Jamursch’s best!!—on blu-ray in Australia on September the 15th. Madman just recently moved into blu-ray, and have only released a handful of films, mostly by Luc Besson!! out of all people!

anyway, their transfers have been quite good over the last 5-6 years, so i’m hoping the blu-ray will follow suit.

as far as i know, no other company has released this on blu-ray, although i could be wrong.

Would love to hear back on the transfer quality of this – might have to get one sent to the UK if so :)

Bought Dead Man on R1 DVD back in ‘99 or maybe 2000 so it’s time to update, but I heard the french blu-ray is a poor transfer that doesn’t add much…

@Joks

I hope your report also includes an explanation to help others appreciate this film. (I never understood this film or why people love it.)

Just watched this last night for the first time since projecting it around ‘98…didn’t really get to concentrate on it while ‘on the job’. This movie RULES, and the old Mirimax DVD actually looks fantastic, but I’d love to see a blu-ray now or even better a great print.

By the way, there is now a Miramax BD of this as well. Possibly not as good as some of the other options, but if you watch the price it’s been mad cheap in the past (I ordered it when it was going for $7.99).
