Damn :(
His best film in years was Carried Away, such subtle work.
It is also worth noting that he worked with Dean, Fonda, Lynch and rebels from every decade since the 1950s
He will be majorly missed.
His role in Apocalypse Now remains one of my favorite roles and just a lot of fun to watch.
Here’s a source if you don’t believe it-
I mean, what are they gonna say when he’s gone? ‘Cause he dies when it dies, when it dies, he dies!
What are they gonna say about him? He was a kind man? He was a wise man? He had plans? He had wisdom? Bullshit, man! And am I gonna be the one that’s gonna set them straight? Look at me! Look at me! Wrong!
No-one was more beautifully right in being so indescribably wrong, Dennis.
Gonna miss you!
Well quoted Lermentov
""Heineken? Fuck that shit! Pabst Blue Ribbon!"
Saddest news I’ve heard in a long time. Wonderful actor.
RIP :-(
I’m gonna watch a Hopper film tonight.
ack! a legend lost. :(
RIP
Definitely watching a Hopper film tonight.
Most terrible news.
One of my favourite actors and a damn fine director. The world will be a much shittier place without him.
Rest in Peace, Dennis.

Outstanding video essay Matthew Zoller Seitz did on his career.
“Do you know that ‘if’ is the middle word in life? If you can keep your
head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you, if you
can trust yourself when all men doubt you… I mean I’m… no, I
can’t… I’m a little man, I’m a little man, he’s… he’s a great man! I
should have been a pair of ragged claws scuttling across floors of
silent seas…”
RIP Dennis Hopper
Let’s watch Hopper’s films all day long!
He was a great actor.
We had a fan letter addressed to him that we put off sending a few days to late….a great actor and an american icon.
Damn!!!!! This is the worst news! A true legend who accomplished so much and leave so much…
Giant
Cool Hand Luke
True Grit
Easy Rider
The Last Movie
Out of the Blue
Hoosiers
The American Friend
Blue Velvet
Backtrack
Apocalypse Now
Chattahoochee
True Romance
Red Rock West
The Keeper
Hang ’Em High
and those are only the ones I can think of off the top of my head…and think of the unbelievable array of directors he’s worked with: Coppola; Stevens; Wenders; Lynch; Warhol; Altman; Peckinhpah; Sturges; Jaglom, etc…
RIP
“He was some kind of man. What does it matter what you say about people?” — Marlene Dietrich in “Touch of Evil.”
Very sad news. Out of the Blue is a masterpiece.
RIP Mr. Hopper.
Even though I found him to be profoundly creepy at times (which is a credit to his acting ability, I suppose), I still think he was a great actor and I can’t believe he’s gone.
A truly great actor. One of a kind.
Rest in peace Mr. Hopper.
Oh man! Gary Coleman yesterday and now Dennis Hopper?
Time for a Hang em High/Diff’rent Strokes marathon tonight.
As it has not been mentioned, still find Hopper’s in Speed to be one of the best villains ever.
@Lermontov, you took my quote…. :)
Goodbye Dennis…. :(
This hurts like when Newman left us……
They don’t make them like that any more.
Somewhere, an executive is happy.
Dennis, if you can’t rest in peace, feel free to come back and do it all again.
Meanwhile, thank you, you crazy genius.
Somewhere, an executive is happy.
Not sure why you would say that, but I sincerely hope that nobody is happy because of Hopper’s death.
Sad indeed.
. . Does this mean we can finally expect a R1 DVD of The Last Movie?

One of the greatest, loopiest actors who ever graced the screen. So many wonderful performances, a decent stab as a director and a true original. Frank Booth, we salute you! Here’s to your death, Frank. No more warm beer…
