well, missed voting. My favorite outings by both directors, and it doesn’t look like my vote would have mattered anyway. Glad Sembene won, though.
I meant to comment on this sooner after voting close, but I’m quite happy here. After losing all of my matches with both of my directors in the first two rounds it was nice to win with each of them this last round. Not that winning matters that much, but you know.
I’m sorry I didn’t get to watch The House of Mirth yet. So far I’ve watched all of my opponents films in time for the match to leave some comments as well, but this one I didn’t make it to. However the DVD is at my apartment and waiting to be watched before it’s sent back to Netflix so I’ll be watching it soon.
I’m suprised by the reaction to Xala. Not because I didn’t personally think it was great, but I just sensed it would be a bit more divisive than the other films of his I’d shown.
Each Sembène film in this Cup has been better than the last. Good selections, Riss… any recommendations on where to go next?
