Let this be a lesson to anyone out there. Your votes can be VERY important, but you have to GET THEM IN ON TIME!!!
This is very disheartening considering the tying vote was only a few mintues away..
Cecil, would it be too much to ask for a 2 minute leeway considering Bigwig was in the midst of responding as the voting was closed. If not thats fine but you got to know this is hard to take as a manager…
Petrovic with the controversial last second win! Shindo had the ball on the goal line for the tie, but he was out of timeouts and the clock ran down before he could hike it. Go Petro!
Patapon, sorry, I know it is hard to take and I feel a bit mean doing this but I’ve got to stick with this decision. Also it wouldn’t exactly be easy for Pedja to take if he ended up losing because I allowed that leeway. Sorry :(
Thats alright Cecil. I really was hoping to bring The Naked Island to everyone’s attention but now I guess they will need to watch it on their own time. No worries.
Still, I think a tie would have been exciting and would give more people the chance to see the films (such a low turnout after all). Its all good though, close match!
Yeah this match could have used the extension that would have come with a tie….
Cecil, where were Jerry Johnson and Singing Mason this time?
Please don’t allow them to vote on my matches next time or I’ll think it’s a sabotage. Have they participated in any other match of Round 2 so far?
No. (assuming they’re two different identities)
It Rains in my Village – 1 vs. Tree without Leaves – 0
I dont think we can ban people’s votes. Jerry and Mason likely offset the people that vote for dim just because they like him or they think they are being anti cannon. (there has got to be one or two of those…)
Patapon, is The Naked Island on Youtube?
John Ryan, no but its available in the Masters of Cinema dvd collection. Also its on surrealmovies.info.
I strongly recommend it.
i completely agree about naked island, i’ve never been so tense watching a woman carry a bucket of water.

Red XIII
I thought Trees Without Leaves was fantastic all around. I love the idea of a family disintegrating right before our eyes as memory cannot hold a concrete moment. Technically this film is miles above the other. It Rains in My Village had some incredible musical numbers but I wasn’t impressed by the films narrative. Unfortunately, thats all I feel like retyping.
