all of these sound extremely promising. Sounds like Disney will be competing with Cartoon Network as far as animated series’ go.
Hopefully this is as good as it sounds. Another thing I hope that Disney will do is to bring back The Muppet Show. It seems now that Disney may have better programming than Nickelodeon. Yes, I’m pumped for The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra, but Nickelodeon is now currently airing Fred: The Series, a TV show based on the most annoying YouTuber to ever exist.
OY! Fred probably wouldn’t even have his own show on Nick if it wasn’t for that one episode of iCarly he guest-starred in! THAT ONE TERRIBLE EPISODE! >:(
Also, allow me to correct a mistake that I made. Jhonen Vasquez is still working on “Randy Cunningham”, but as a creative consultant, not a character designer.
So, if the designs in the show look anything like Jhonen’s previous work, that because it’s a rip-off.
Oh, and trust me, you don’t want to know what the actual no-body creators of the show have worked on prior to it.
Seriously, don’t even Google search it, it’ll only make you sad.

That’s right, Disney Channel could possibly be coming back around in terms of animation!
Here’s the scoop: Various creative minds have moved over to Disney to make new shows. These include:
- “Wander Over Yonder” by Craig McCracken (The Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends)
- “Gravity Falls” by Alex Hirsch (Fish Hooks, Flapjack)
- “Tron: Uprising” by Charlie Bean (Robotboy, Samurai Jack, Ren and Stimpy)
- “Randy Cunningham: Ninth Grade Ninja” with character designs by Jhonen Vasquez (Invader Zim)
Other people who’ve made development deals with Disney include Paul Rudish (Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Star Wars: Clone Wars) and The Brothers Chaps (Homestar Runner).
I’m actually quite excited about all of this. Hopefully, it will inspire other kid’s TV channels to show more original, creator-driven programming. I’m looking at YOU, Nickelodeon!
