Fellow filmmakers are urged to check out a new online site from The Film Collaborative (TFC) that lists independent film distributors and allows filmmakers to rate and comment on them. The tool should be used to check references before you sign any distribution deals. If your distributor is not listed, you are encouraged to submit their name and contact details and comment on any dealings you’ve had.
TFC encourages factual and constructive information attributed to named individuals. Acknowledging that some filmmakers may not feel comfortable registering complaints or low opinions of their past or current distribution partners, they do allow for anonymous submissions. Simply contact the site administrator with your details and she will post for you.
