I agree more films, not steaming piles of bad acting and dialogue which are obviously seen in Twilight without even seing the film. Stephen King would agree :)
I, for one, know that I’d like to have the people who run The Auteurs vet all of the database entries to make sure that there aren’t any bad or subpar films among them. I simply don’t have the time to filter through it all on my own power.

I am beginning to think The Auteurs was an unfortunate name choice for this site. It seems to encourage too many film-elitists.

We have framed our site under The Auteurs moniker not because we are strict auteurists or wish to only view cinema from this angle, but because it represents our dedication to cinematic artistry. We want to show only distinctive, visionary films, whether their inspiration comes from the single mind of a director, or from a star, subject, country, culture, or any other deciding factor.
So I’m still confused about who “The Auteurs” are supposed to be.
I am not sure what is the vision of the makers of theauteurs but I have received the notion that this site is for those who have higher taste in cinema. There are already many sites who are rather more keen on creating a database. I would like it to stick to quality works and Twilight certainly doesn’t deserve any place if we think about it this way.
It is a movie, isn’t it?

Yeah I don’t see why this site should aspire to be the IMDb, be like the IMDb, have as much as the IMDb, or include things the IMDb has. We already have the IMDb. I will not be watching Twilight so having a page for it here doesn’t really do anything for me, specifically, except I guess for threads like these that really just provide another opportunity for people to rant about how they dislike movies like these (and in this case specifically, who could blame ’em?)

FACT 1: twilight is crap. Nobody doutbs that here except the eight fans which this movie has (or the twelve fans new moon has), but we are thousands so… yes it’s the crapEST of craps by simple consensus.
FACT 2: but… there are many films in the frontier that divides crap from gold. There are several reasons for this. First, nobody is a “god films” (as Patrick wisely implied) to decide the frontier properly. In general the films has a lot of faces and a lot of ways to be read and a lot of things to like or dislike and a lot of etc etc: cinema is complex!.
FACT 3: some people would disagree but I think the radical division mainstream – indie or art films – entertainment films is quite dangerous to value and discuss about cinema. This is consecuence of fact 2.
FACT 4: this community has to be different from IMDb to justify its existence.
FACT 5: The difference between IMDb y TheAuteurs is not only the database. It’s the range and quality of the themes discussed. This thread found in IMDb by a user called “dreamyhope-599-163609”: “Does Bella really treat Jacob that bad?” should be dead from the beginning. This control is in the hands of the users which in general are cinephiles that take seriously cinema and want to talk about good films.
FACT 6: more information is always a good thing! Besides, it’s just information not a note of worship!
FACT 7: the films (good and bad) dont have to compete for be included in the database. it’s obviously logical new moon is in and not an outstanding film from Albany or Uganda because not much people knows the latter! This is in part in the hands of user too: by means of suggestions to the site.
So…. what’s the matter?? include that crap.
I’ve seen it.
It sucked.
I will probably see its sequel.
Most likely it will suck as well.
I just have this general tendency to give any & every film a day in court without completely ruling it out of my cinematic acumen.

Stop treating The Auteurs as if it’s governed by a council of film gods whose taste is refined beyond mortal comprehension. It’s a database, let’s get most films on here.
