Does Anyone See A similarity between Splice and Eraserhead?

Did anyone notice the similarities between the upcoming sci-fi movie “Splice” (form the guy who did Cube), and Eraserhead. This is what caught my eye-

In case you can’t tell the difference, the top one is from Splice, and the bottom is from Eraserhead.

there may be something there, but the movies should be quite different. Splice is the only film I’m looking forward to seeing this summer/

I guess. But the two designs don’t exactly scream of uniqueness. Splice looks like a hybrid of Aliens and Frankenstein to me.

Thing #1 does resemble Thing #2.
