A bit, yes.
Yes it does somewhat resemble Godard. Really like that piece of music they used.
Maybe the colors, but I don’t see any direct resemblance. Impressive trailer though.
Indeed the trailer is explosive. The movie is based on the book (which happens to be Tom Ford’s favorite) and this film will be Tom Ford’s directorial debut! An all-star, fabulous cast to showcase, as well. I can’t wait! :)
I saw it at Toronto. Regardless of the trailer, I can assure everyone that the actual movie is nothing like something Godard would do.
^How was it?
No.
Mor elike Losey or Resnais.
I liked it, but I wasn’t too enthusiastic about it. Colin Firth is good in it, but after the first 20 minutes or so, my emotional investment in the characters sort of diminished. I don’t know what it is for sure, but I think the movie suffers from the same thing a lot of book-to-film adaptations do: It feels like it should have been a book; as in, the interesting part is what the characters are thinking, but there’s no real way to do that in a film as effectively as a book could. With that said, it looks good and I appreciated the attention to detail in the set and costume design.

Just the style of it.
