Platoon
Hot Shots!
Lucas
Major league
Cant say I enjoyed him in anything else really.
To be honest, he’s more interesting in his real life then he ever was in his movies =D
Oh, I was waiting on a Charlie Sheen thread. Major League was always my guilty pleasure.
Duh… winning!
His cameo in Ferris Bueller
Lucas
Wall Street
Eight Men Out
Being John Malkovich
jeez…I didn’t realize that’s all I’ve ever seen him in…and I’ve never seen the TV show
I’ll go with Wall Street
He has a number of good movies Cadence and Men and Work are good cult films. He is great in Lucas and Major League and Hot Shots
the best is yet to come. I believe he will get his show back and movie offers from all of this. He is tons more interesting than that pheonix loser
He was never totally convincing in drama, i don’t think. that’s why he was more successful at comedy.
the sitcom he was in was lame as hell though.
Wall Street and Hot Shots are probably my two favs of his.
Word is that Major League 3 is on the cards. Not sure why though, especially considering the second one flopped and Major League doesn’t quite have the same reputation as other comedies from that time.
can’t remember the last time i heard anyone talk about it.
Major League and Hot Shots.
You’ve got to give it to the man for knowing how to flip out entertainingly.
So wait…is this supposed to be a Charlie Sheen appreciation thread or can we trash this worthless Sheen junior a little?
For all he’s done, nothing approaches the ballsy brilliance of his ongoing and elaborate Situationist prank.
Charlie Sheen – 10,000
Trolls – 0
his sitcom is incredible
the network managed to sell a very adult show as family entertainment then mixed a real life and character persona in such a way that it is hard to tell the two apart anymore (and this is why Sheen is not replaceable despite rumors, the best they could hope for is a randy uncle who stays for a while played by Jack Nicholson or Warren Beatty you are welcome for the idea CBS)
I’m on a drug called Charlie Sheeeeeeeeeeeeen
And to be relevant to this topic- Wall street, the original.
I envy those that carry TIGER BLOOD.
Not a huge fan of his, but he does have pretty good comedic talent. :)
his cahracter on his TV is very closely based on himself as a womanizer. thats the appeal. He’s hilarious when he’s just himself, and as it was stated earlier, he is more at home in his comedies then his dramas.
his lone serious movie that I can watch over and over was Platoon ( lucas is good but he only had about, 10 mins of screen time? someoene correct me on that as it’s been awhile if it was more, but it wasnt alot iirc)
Free Money is good fun
mostly due to Brando tho.
Suprising that Brando and father Sheen would reunite in a straight to video odd ball comedy
@Dennis Brian – Cadence was pretty good, as I recall. I think his father directed it.
Beyond the obvious ones like Platoon and Wall Street, he had some good cameos, but his career has been marked by crap comedies. Lucas would be the closest thing, but that was a long time ago.
the best is yet to come
I always liked Men at Work tho.
Was he in Being John Malkovich?
^ Yes, it was a cameo, at the end of the film.
^ and it was def. his best role
Another vote for his cameo in Ferris Bueller!
2 days and no mention of Navy Seals?!?!?!?!?
What is funny about Two and a Half Men? I think its the worst show on television.
Here’s some examples of when the shows humor reaches its limit…seriously, this is it. Let’s move on and give our attention to something that matters.
Alan: Oh, you poor guy, you have to drive 45 minutes to get laid.
Charlie: And 45 minutes to get back!
Charlie: Jake. What do men have that women dont?
Jake: Beards.
Charlie: no. Lower
Jake: (in a lower voice tone) Beards
Alan: There’s a special section in Hell reserved for people like you Charlie
Charlie: That’s good, because I’d hate to stand in line!
Charlie: Drugs! Get me drugs!
Alan: No. Medication will only mask the pain.
Charlie: Fine, mask it! Give it a cape and let it fight crime, I don’t give a damn!

It is to Sheen’s great credit that he could make those kind of lines work and to Chuck Lorre’s lack of actual talent that he wrote them
C’mon Dennis, Sheen’s sitcom was just another braindead American sitcom. what you smoking? I always thought it was totally beneath his talent, andthat’s saying something ;-)
I thought it fused a his persona with standard sitcom conventions in an amusing way; it is certainly funnier than most sitcoms
“It is to Sheen’s great credit that he could make those kind of lines work "
wow. Come on Dennis, Sheen did absolutely nothing different than anyone else would have done in his role. He’s bland and worthless. I have yet to laugh at anything that comes out of Charlie Sheen’s dialog or the other one and a half men on that show.
