Bart – That wasn’t Eddie Cantor being ‘portrayed,’ it was Cole Porter.
Hey Christopher, thanks for your reply, but it’s not that scene I’m referring to. It’s later in the film and more in a kind of nightclub setting. I’m thinking of Eddie Cantor because of the hat and the mannerisms of the character.
But like I said before, I may be imagining all this. It’s driving me nuts, that’s for sure.
IMDB lists neither character nor actor.
I don’t think he’s in Midnight in Paris but he has been on the television show Boardwalk Empire, which is excellent.
not sure Cantor was in Paris in that time period, probably at the catskills
The only nightclub song I recall in the film was Josephine Baker
M I – that’s it! I’ve been mixing the up the scene in ‘Boardwalk Empire’ with the general atmosphere of ‘Midnight in Paris’. Kind of like a filmic mixed metaphor. What a relief! Thanks, you guys.
David – Ah, ‘Palmy Days’!

Hey guys, quick question: It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie, but have I been dreaming or is Eddie Cantor one of the ‘celebrities’ that populate Owen Wilsons dream version of 1920s Paris. The character hasn’t actually any lines, but is seen performing at a club.
If I’m correct, can someone please tell me who the actor is that is impersonating Cantor and which song he is performing?
