Indeed, I am on it.

In the meantime, there’s also http://mubi.com/garage/projects/1:“The Cosmonaut”
However, that doesn’t mean that talking about another project like this doesn’t have any worth, or that we shouldn’t be disappointed that nothing has come of it thus far. It means that this thread is yet another possibility in development amongst many ideas not-acted upon, unrealized, and realized, and that it could still happen if someone is willing to shoot the raw footage to do it. I know I’m waiting for a camera my folks were going to send me, if it has video capabilities all I need to know is where I can dump that footage online so that it can be downloaded, and I’ll shoot some actuality stuff in Dubai if people want.

shit..I got all excited about the cosmonaut..downloaded the materials..only to read the blog and realize that the contest is already over.
Does anyone know of any other similar contests? That openedit one is closed too, unfortunately.
stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive, staayin’ aliiiiiiive!
I’d love to participate in something like this.
I can create a Google Drive shared folder of junk footage I’ve shot for people to download and edit. Problem is I mean junk footage, like the stuff I use for Robinson Met Krasna.
—DiB
I’m down for that but it’s not interesting unless many people participate.
I’m also kind of interested in this.
I’m down too
Doesn’t look like this will happen then.
I’d be willing to add some sound / edit Robinson Met Krasna if you do upload it PolarisDiB.
Anybody who would like access to a Dropbox folder of assets, pm me your email. I have nothing to offer in terms of prizes/prestige, but I will be slowly adding stuff over time.

Cheers and sent
I’ll hook you up tomorrow after work.

The Dropbox folder is set up and e-mails are sent. Just FYI for anyone else who wants to join in.
I did this really quick with the footage I have compressed. Was too lazy to fix the sequence settings.
can’t wait to work with the rest of it.
I forgot I took that sunset shot. While I was driving up to a client’s house. Ridiculously epic clouds.
The band footage is actually inspired by Danny Lyons. Saw a retrospective of his work and he is really attracted to musical performances. I want to get far more than just that one.

Enjoyed yours Andrew.
Mine is slightly different, and sorry but am still working on it.
have to wait till i’m in the right mood. so maybe this weekend
hope there is no rush
Finally got around to messing with some of the other footage, although not much of it.

How about putting your money where your mouths are and supporting a real, active, project?

All of you, guys, can be “doers” or, at the very least, producers of the new work of Jonas Mekas and Nina Menkes. This is what The Garage is all about, this is the opportunity to be part of a truly independent filmmaking experience.
