That is really nice, Anonymouse! Very cool!
Just sent the revised version to Luis A. so that he can post. Stay tuned… :)
Alright, so expect my submission in a few minutes (O:
EDIT: It’ll be up until tomorrow, I must leave home now ):
In Production Note 1 of the Ergodic Cinema Project, or Stage 1, we documented the theme, structure, key film pitches, and organizational details of the project. In Production Note 2, or Stage 2 of the Ergodic Cinema Project, we will document the status of Act 1, Act 2, and Act 3, as well as general announcements regarding the project at this stage of production.
Looks good — thanks, Garage! :)
Deadline for the Act 2 script submissions is in two days. We’re still looking for two (?) more people for Act 3 pitches.
Also if anyone is wanting to run for a position (producer, director, financial officer, press officer) then just post here. If we vote for an external website, I’ll add a site administrator position (although I’m sort of counting on Roboko for that one).
I don’t mind doing it :)
I don’t mind keeping the press officer position. If everyone’s ok with that, that is. Good practice for me to do these things…
The deadline for Act 2 scripts is closing in 1h29m.
ready!
1. Ryan Estabrooks’ script: X
Strange… I seem to have deleted the introduction for the next vote.
In any case, I don’t have the time to write out another but there will be a vote held tomorrow and the submission of scripts for Act 2 is closed.
Thanks to Tremolo, our vote introduction was miraculously saved! Here it is:
The submission of Act 2 scripts is now closed (at -2h33m minutes from the deadline).
This vote will be to approve the currently submitted Act 2 scripts, moving them from the scriptwriting to the production phase. As well, we are holding a referrendum (with secondary contingencies) on the delegation of roles and the possibility of an external website.
This will mostly be a yes/no vote, the basic modalities will be the same as in the past. Voting will be held on the following:
Approval of the Act 2 Scripts:
1. Ryan Estabrooks’ script, which can be found here – Yes/No
2. Odilonvert’s script, which can be found here – Yes/No
3. Santropez’ script, which can be found here – Yes/No
Website Referrendum:
1. External Website – Yes/ No
The website will essentially be a repository for up to date information regarding progress and an amalgamation and reformulation of all the Production Notes (&c.) that we’ve published on the MUBI Garage as well as various other bits of information, including the production status of each film (with photographs from the set, &c.). Communication will be done on the MUBI forum. Essentially, the website will be a place to organize information regarding the project and its eventual product.
Delegation of Roles:
1.Director:
PolarisDiB – Yes/No
2. Press Officer:
Odilonvert – Yes/ No
The following is not a “yes/no vote" but requires the choice of either one delegate or the other:
3. Financial Officer:
PolarisDiB
Roboko
The vote on whether or not to keep myself (Anonymouse) as the “Producer” will be on the next vote (in seven days) when we determine a) what exactly the duties of the “Producer” are and b) whether or not there is anyone else who could relieve me of all or some of whatever those duties may be (likely our director).
Addendum:
1. Site Administrator:
Roboko – Yes/No
It goes without saying that if the vote for an external website fails, so too will the vote for a site administrator.
Voting will run for seven (7) days and will end on 2011-03-1T00:01:00Z. As usual, my vote will only be cast in the case of a tie. It also goes without saying that you cannot vote for yourself or your own segment. These votes will be discarded.
Voting is open to the general public. Everyone is encouraged to vote so long as they understand the nature of this project.
We are currently holding a second round of pitch submissions for Acts 3 and beyond in order to have some selection on the ballot (otherwise there will only be three choices for the three Act 3 segments). Act 3 has thus been absented from the ballot. If we don’t have at least two more contributors by the time this vote ends (in seven days) then we’ll hold a “yes/no” vote on whether or not we want to go ahead with Act 3 as is. Supposing the vote passes, another “yes/no” vote will be held approving the (revised) pitches either submitted or soon to be submitted by Tremolo, Roboko and TheGamgee (effectively moving them from the pitching to the scriptwriting phase).
Essentially then, the deadline for Act 3 revised pitch submissions will be the 2011-03-1T00:01:00Z.
Please forumulate your vote in the following manner:
Approval of the Act 2 Scripts:
1. Ryan Estabrooks’ script: X
2. Odilonvert’s script: X
3. Santropez’ script: X
Website Referrendum:
1. External Website: X
Delegation of Roles:
1.Director:
PolarisDiB: X
2. Press Officer:
Odilonvert: X
3. Financial Officer: X/Y
Addendum:
Site Administrator:
1. Roboko: X
Anonymouse — just a question — we are going to have a Garage page for this project (like the Cosmonaut project), so, will the website then just be a reproduction, without the forum discussions we have on Garage? Just wondering about overlap. It seems like it might be a lot to maintain if we already are going to have the space here, unless there’s a distinct difference between the two spaces. I was thinking we’d have the website built toward the end of the project, as an external “face” and perhaps to better assist with fundraising.
Please further clarify what the difference between the information we will be putting on our Garage page and the information we will be putting on the dedicated website will be.
The website probably won’t be up for months but if we get a Garage project page, they would probably be essentially the same thing. As you say, a webpage would be mostly just a “face.”
I was asked several weeks ago if I thought we should have one and I said I’d put it to vote. Now that we’re looking at having a Garage project page, a website may not be as important but I thought I would put it on the vote anyway. If you don’t think it’s necessary, just vote “no.”
I don’t think it’s a bad idea, but for now I think we should be concentrating on making the film itself and not scatter our energies, particularly if we have a place to put our project while it is progressing.
Maybe when we get further along, it would be a good idea to have a second place to show it. I’m just concerned about spreading ourselves too thin, and as our project should be something anyone could make, I think it’d be wise to go slowly and take our time, for the quality of the project and as an example that is slowly but surely building in a manner that wouldn’t intimidate people who are new to this (such as me! :) ).
Can we have an option of “yes but not right now” or something to that extent? I wouldn’t want to say a “no” forever, just a “no” that means let’s wait for a bit and not bite off more than we can chew at this point.
In that case, just vote “yes.” Those making the website I’m sure are aware of the commitment involed and are capable of seeing it through in addition to making a segment.
Yep, there are currently three people, myself, The Gamgee and my CS degree friend poised to work on the site if it gets voted on, so don’t worry about that. I also made The Gamgee’s job much easier by teaching myself wordpress (urghhhh).
Also, you should remove me from the financial officer vote as I intended to only fill in unless someone came along, and I believe PolarisDiB is more experienced in these matters

I like TREMOLO’s skype name too! It gave me the idea of recording old people’s talking and singing… to see what images would that suggest. Robert Bresson wrote that film is closer to music than to painture, as he composed his photograms thinking of their rythm, either inside each scene or as scenes add up in editing.
I was very sick yesterday. The outdoors heater, and the indoors coolers have knocked me down. And I had to do the IRS declaration of my dead mother’s income in her last months of life. Well… I survived to tell the story. And came up with a good log-line for a film noir, combining horror & darkish humor – dead mother’s IRS form.
This post is to share the updated MISSING STILLS flicker album, with 9 more pictures that will be in Maria’s notebook. However, only the 6 first photos could be used in our project under a CC license. If anyone wants to use them, go ahead. If you have any doubts, show me the pictures you’ve selected before shooting.

I am paying a lot of attention to the objects I’ll use in my segment. And I will make them available for you guys, if you feel like using them. I will vote tomorrow. I wanna read all the scripts first. Not that I’d object them, I just feel it’s the right thing to do… I’d usually vote with no reading at all, but I’m trying to become a better person.
Kss! DAN
Feel better, Dan! I would definitely like to see the list of objects you are thinking of using for your film.
About the photos, the Photographer says its inconsistent if I add images of the 1980’s in MARIA’s notebook, which is limited to the late 1960s up to the mid 1970s. So I will keep the existing album as a personal brain storming tool and later will publish 2 other: MISSING SA with the final selection of MARIA’s photos and MISSING B, with photos anyone in the Project can use, under a CC license. But when I checked the MISSING STILLS album today, the previous photos were note there. So I fixed it and I hope all the 12 photos are in there now… http://www.flickr.com/photos/dandaraphoto/sets/72157625805675835/
About the votes, I should be done reading all the scripts tonight. But would like to comment that I think the external website is a useful tool for both fundraising and promotion. I like the Wix.com plataform better.
About the production of objects, I’d rather post them in photos, when they’re ready to go.
haha thanks! I actually got the name from a Simon & Garfunkel song(?) called “Voices of Old People” which is pretty much just what Dandara described: a collage of old people talking. I named my music project after that track so I now make all my screen names Voices of Old People because: 1) It makes me feel professional and 2) screen names are hard to come up with!
Well it’s wonderful, Tremolo!
any reference to Simon & Garfunkel gets my love
Anonymouse
By the way, I just figured out how to use the forum script… so now we get these handy graphs.
