There is a flaming nipple and full-frontal female nudity. The biggest plot addition is Jeffrey and a college subplot.
I haven’t seen them myself yet because I haven’t picked up the Blu-Ray yet.
I’ve read the original script and there’s this really intense scene where Jeffrey watches a college girl almost get raped, only stops it in the end when he gets distracted. There’s also this ongoing series of scenes with the termites you see at the beginning.
I think the movie is great cut as is, though the college scenes make an interesting connection to the Primal Scene and the fact that Jeffrey is so dedicated to seeing but so bad at acting. The movie becomes a transition between him not knowing how to stand up and him finally being held very responsible for his actions.
However, to include the introductory college scenes, you also have to include a third girlfriend of Jeffrey’s that really dragged the script down.

Did Lynch come out and say that? I’m curious because he isn’t one to do commentary or discuss/analyze his films. It certainly makes sense though, I always thought it might be amyl. but you would think inhaling it steadily would give him a heart attack or pop a blood vessel. Poppers always gave me a headache afterwards.

Lynch originally wanted Helium but Hopper suggested amyl nitrate due to it’s supposed sex boosting properties. Lynch went with Amyl Nitrate.

I suppose that my hopes are high. I found the deleted scenes from Wild At Heart gave this awesome kind of sub plot missing from the final cut. I hope that the additional footage can be incorporated in some coherent manner. Ive heard that Lynch initially wanted Frank to inhale helium not laughing gas. If this was ever filmed then this would be the holy grail of deleted scenes. Im pretty sure it was never filmed. Anybody else gettin a chub?
