Hear hear!!
Yeah, I agree. I am on Facebook, but I don’t want an open portal into my private life getting its tendrils in every little thing I do online, and I certainly don’t want to bug my friends with every movie I watch like I’m desperate for my tastes to be validated.
I deactivated my account last week. Haven’t missed it.
it’s also difficult as fuck to click “Not Now” on a phone screen because when you zoom it drags it off the screen and you can’t scroll to get it back, at least on both the android browser and chrome beta. SO ANNOYING. if i don’t get it after a few tries i usually just give up and visit a different site instead of mubi. i’m thinking that’s not exactly the idea behind that pop-up
there is a way to stop this, i have done it. it has something to do with cookies. if your browser is deleting cookies after every session (privacy mode) then it isn’t getting the mssg that you’ve already answered it. or something like that :P could someone from mubi clarify this? i’m not on facebook so i can’t say for sure
That Facebook message really is annoying – please stop it!
@Ruby: Yes, it definitely has to do with the browser settings. But MUBI can’t expect from all its non-Facebook users to change their browser settings just because of this nonsense.
I seriously find Facebook’s presence on the Internet as provoking and rather aversing. As if it is aiming to subjugate every other mind of a typical user, conquer every other server’s space, and pull the whole planet to its its triggers. I might exaggerate, but I certainly abhor Zuckerberg’s monster that is not even not wholly his own idea.
It will just randomly pop up on my kindle. What I hate more is that my lists have a facebook like button. I don’t have an account but my mom does and she’s constantly asking me to do stuff on there for her so I’ve accidentally liked my lists and they show up on her facebook.
Elena I love you
I sent in a complaint earlier over this very thing, also asking for a no thanks button.
“Forum” – “Last Post” – “Not Now” – over and over again.
Very annoying.
Not to mention my dislike of the creeping tendrils others have already spoken of above.
Usually this type of crap only happens if I am logged onto Facebook, which I try not to be, for this very reason.
“it’s also difficult as fuck to click “Not Now” on a phone screen”
Yes! impossible on mine, it always sits just out of reach aaagh
get rid of the stupid thing
Elena
People, I’m sorry to be so asocial, but I’m NOT on Facebook.
Do I really have to be asked every single time I log in to the website if I want to share my “likes” with my “friends”?
I can only click on “not now” as a choice. Could you be so kind to make a third bottom with “no, thanks” and let me be? :)
Thank you!
