Considering Cameron’s background I was so underwhelmed by his list.
I reckon
– TV Party: Black Flag ( Repo Man )
and of course
- My Sharona : The Knack ( Reality Bites ) which is probably the only good thing in the whole film
Do we really need a 3rd thread about this topic?

I love the Goodfellas’ soundtrack,it is great and surely one of the reasons “Goodfellas” is my favorite movie. The ones that I love more is “Rags to Riches”,during the opening titles, the great piano version of “Layla” and…I really can’t choose one song above the others.
The different theme for each main character in Once Upon a Time in the West, especially “Jill’s Theme”

Royal Tenenbaums Luke Wilson suicide attempt scene – Needle in the Hay by Elliott Smith
Life Aquatic w Steve Zissou – Seeing shark – Starafulur by Sigur Ros
The openings to “Shaft” and “Saturday Night Fever,” two songs that set the mood for the film to come.
“Wouldn’t It Be Nice” by the Beach Boys in Michael Moore’s Roger & Me, even if the movie isn’t a masterpiece
“Music Moments” I surely take to mean also fine moments from the original score.
“Custer of the West” . One of those ‘Spanish/German/Everybody Else’ co-productions to share the load of financing, and the film was not very good. But the score was. Bernardo Segall fashioned some simple but effective tunes for this film, and the one that made me hunt down the album for 30 years was: “When the War is Through.” A deceptively simple, and incredibly powerful piano motif, given the scenes that accompany it.
My most recent favourite:
“Heard Somebody Say” – Life During Wartime (2009)

I like the main theme for James Bond. It just has something about it that makes it suspensful, but kind of fun in a way.
“Sometimes” by My Bloody Valentine in Lost In Translation, ScarJo staring out the cab into the neon night (sigh…)
My favorite recent one is the opening sequence of Watchmen over Bob Dylan’s Desolation Row.
The Doors’ “The End” in APOCALYPSE NOW. It had quite the effect on me the first time I saw it.

Inspired by Cameron Crowe’s list of his 36 favourite music moments in film (http://www.empireonline.com/features/cameron-crowe-greatest-music-moments/), as well as McNutt’s own list (http://mcnutt.wordpress.com/2009/05/15/in-which-mcnutt-shares-his-favourite-music-moments-in-film/), I have decided to find out some of the favourite music moments in movies.
Mine is definitely Tiny Dancer in Crowe’s own Almost Famous.
Also:
- Just Like Honey: Jesus and Mary Chain (ending of Lost in Translation)
- Everything in it’s right place: Radiohead (opening to Vanilla Sky)

- I’ve Told Every Little Star: Linda Scott (Mulholland Drive’s audition scene)
- Head Over Heels: Tears for Fears (Donnie Darko’s school scene)
