Fellini Crushes

My question is a bit trivial and fanciful, but I thought it would be interesting: have you ever gotten a crush on any of Fellini’s characters?

My favorite Fellini lady in the past has been Sylvia from La Dolce Vita — I think she has that legendary status for a good reason. But I’m currently watching Nights of Cabiria, and I feel like Cabiria might actually take the spot for my favorite alluring Fellini character. She’s loud and boisterous, but fantastically sentimental and joyful, as well. Carla from 8 1/2 is up there, as well.

Though I don’t have any of the same opinions on Fellini’s men, I welcome opinions on them, as well. Seeing the character of Alberto Lazzari, I see that Marcello Mastrioanni wasn’t the only suave dude that Fellini cast in his films. I’m sure there are other alluring menfolk in Fellini’s oeuvre.

And if we run out of Fellini people, we can always move on to Antonioni and Bergman.

When I saw I vitelloni I was rather taken with Franco Interlenghi.

But looking at his pictures, I cannot shake the Joe Pesci resemblance.

Among his women, Anouk Aimée always catches my attention.

Same goes for Claudia Cardinale’s character …Claudia. Her first scene in the film is possibly the most entrancing entrance (hah) of a female character I can think of.
