I absolutely adore The Fountain, i think it has some of the most exquisitely beautiful cinematography and special effects ever put on the screen, plus the soundtrack is extraordinary. It is also a deeply moving film about coming to terms with death and it brings me to tears every time i watch it!
I haven’t read the graphic novel but now i will definitely look up in amazon and see how much it is. I f the rumor is true that it is being released as a Criterion edition i will waste no time in buying it

@Mary: consumerism is the new performance art. :P

The great thing about consumerism as performance art is that the art itself augments the mis en scene, because you horde visible (and sometimes invisible) material things, and yet the mis en scene is dynamic because the products are so cheaply produced that they have short life spans and begin to deteriorate, forcing consumers will replace the old with the new at a cost which far outstrips the savings of purchasing cheaper material!

Oh, wait, this is about The Fountain.

Did you see those cute pajamas he was wearing in the bubble? Where do I get them!??!
