So I definitely think I should express why I think this belongs on the database, so…
Most don’t realize that this was actually NOT the pilot episode for the “Goosebumps” TV series but actually a TV special for the Halloween holiday in 1995. Because of the effectiveness of the special (which really is a very well-directed and naturally scary family/horror piece) it generated the series which involved adaptations of the children’s book series that never quite reached the level of The Haunted Mask and its effectiveness. In my opinion, even with its cheesy charms, the special is a wonderful film of its own… stands on its own… and has become a staple in Halloween viewing for family and friends alike. So… you can turn it down. But I think it belongs here and qualifies to. So I might as well give it a shot.
