Hi, I had submitted a film called ‘Vadakkunokkiyanthram’ (Compass)/1989, an Indian film directed by Sreenivasan to the database, but don’t see it yet. I would like to have posted a link, but it is such a rarely known film that there is no link with English subtitles yet. Though the film hasnt been widely seen outside the state of Kerala, it was lauded by Adoor Gopalakrishnan as one of the ten best films made in India. And I can assure you that it is not like the crass films that are produced by the Indian mainstream cinema. There are hardly any stills availble online and I dont know how to post one in the Forum either. I hope you will take note of this plea and consider adding this film, which I consider to be a masterpiece of Indian Cinema and a brilliant psychological thriller, to the database.

Sorry, there were a few typos in my last message. ‘Vadaakunokkiyanthram’ (Compass) is not a psychological thriller as I had written yestreday, but a black comedy or a psychological comedy, if there is any such term in films. I use this term because it is concerned primarily with the mental imbalance a person is driven to due to his sense of inferiority. Since the film is also a very funny one, I guess psychological comedy is not a bad term.
