help me out here, thinking of primarily 3 characters, not exclusively, where the plot hinges on their interactions
KNIFE IN THE WATER
DEATH AND THE MAIDEN
TWO GIRLS AND A GUY
It has 3 characters: K, E and S
^good one :)
Last Year at Marienbad? There are many people, but only 3 of them are important… or are they?
JULES AND JIM
The Big Kahuna
Btw, Brian, how was Tape?
Mankiewicz’ film of SLEUTH — sort of.
Stranger than Paradise
2001 and Rashomon definitely have more than 3 characters… I haven’t seen any of the others
A Better Tomorrow
Bullet In The Head
@Drunken Father Figure of Old
They do, but if you look at the conditions the OP sets, they ask for 3 characters, not exclusively, where the plot hinges on their interactions not just a film with 3 characters in it.
2001 – HAL, Dave and Frank – Floyd is only a setup to the mission.
Rashomon – The Thief, The Man and the Woman – the main action hinges on their story.
Quiz Show. Of the three main characters, you can argue that each is the heart of the movie and in a narrative sense as well as historically, they’re intertwined.
Band of Outsiders
Cronenberg’s The Fly.
“Une femme est une femme”, if we are not too strict…
“La salamandre”, Alain Tanner
Three Days and Freedom by Sharunas Bartas. I FAR (and by this I mean FAR *100) prefer the former.
Edit: To be honest, Three Days has three “main” characters.
Bande a part
