2 OR 3 THINGS I KNOW ABOUT HER

Great cinematography, but, overall, a boring film.

Last Tango in Paris, Benny’s Video, Kagemusha, Jules et Jim, many more… I always fall asleep while great movies. Just because I like watching movies really late. And I fell asleep while “Inglourius Basterds” in Theater. ’Cause I had slept only 1 hour that day after a plane flight.

I fell asleep during Wizard of Oz. I also had to pinch myself to stay awake while watching Bertolucci’s The Conformist, not because I found it boring but because I was running on a total of 3 hours of sleep that whole week.

Waltz with Bashir

The only time I’ve fallen asleep in the movie theater.

@Santino: that film was so intense I couldnt fall asleep. But admittedly, it does get very boring.

I’m just not much of a fan of animated films (Pixar excluded, of course). Had Waltz with Bashir been live action, I probably would’ve loved it.

The film earned my seal of approval with the final 5 minutes when the entire story gave way to actual live footage. It was like Ari Forman called bs on his own film. My personal theory, of course.

I adore Up, Ratatouille, Wall E and all that other stuff, but Miyazaki owns my heart.

There must have been a thread with almost the exact same title some time ago. At that time, I posted

DIARY OF A COUNTRY PRIEST.

I’ve tried to stay awake through 5 screenings but that priest keeps scribbling in his diary…and my life keeps ebbing away…

I’ve actually never fallen asleep watching a film!

My sleep schedule is erratic, so I can’t tell if I fall asleep during a movie because it’s boring me or because I’m tired.

The Silence for the first viewing. I was actually very tired but also bored to tears.

The Artist. Not because the film was anything short of absolutely compelling, but because I was incredibly tired. Same case with a screening I saw of Godard’s Week End. The restlessness of that plot somehow contributed to my sleepiness. Damn French!

When my children were a bit younger and I took them to the movies, I would occasionally nod off but when we saw WALLE, I fell asleep much to their amusement!

I have dozed off many a times during movies from my homeland especially Punjabi films (they are so damn bad). It’s same with bollywood movies, mostly during musical numbers, though i was raised on those movies. Earlier on i might have liked some of bollywood stuff but now i can’t stand 99 % of them.

I fell asleep during Avatar, and The Village by M. Night Shyamalan. Also, AFIJII2002, I wasn’t raised on Bollywood films, but I also tend to drift away during those dance scenes. I can’t remember the name of it, but I was watching an Indian gangster film, it was so good, then all of a sudden it turned into a musical? I said, ok, “I’m done”.

Most post-1960s films are too bad to sleep to, but Chinatown, The Deer Hunter and Blade Runner were all actually rather good sleeping films.
