Pierrot Le Fou and Alphaville competition

Eric Rohmer’s My Night With Maud

both based in London. My friend said the BFI (who run the competition) reported about 25 entries to the last one, so you probably have a good chance of winning as there are multiple pairs of tickets to give away.

I wasn’t able to find any competitions with tickets to the NYC Film Forum showing of Breathless which I think is just over. Or the LA one. I’ll keep looking…

Breathless ends on july 13 at film forum I believe

My one pet peeve about film forum is that the screens are relatively small. They’re merely comparable to having a giant flat screen in your own home, unless of course that’s how they’re meant to be seen and my notion of the proper way of seeing a film is relatively distorted.

I know – I wish New York had an equivalent to the BFI. :-(

I couldn’t find more competitions, but I did find some cool Breathless T-shirts that Rodarte are doing:

Does the US in general have an equivalent to the BFI or the cinematheque in Paris

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I lived in the US for 20 years and there doesn’t seem to be anything equivalent to a national cinema. Which is a shame. :-(

The closest thing I think is this:

but it isn’t really the same as the BFI or the Cinematheque. Maybe there’s an opportunity for some intrepid US businessperson there?

Aha! Here’s the schedule of where Breathless is playing and when in the US:

so not just for New Yorkers and Los Angelites… there seems to be something in nearly every state.
