I love everything this man ever did. Hands down.
I watched “The Crimson Kimono” this weekend. It isn’t Fuller’s best, but it is so good.
Joe Kojaku and Charlie Bancroft, a team of detectives try to solve the murder of stripper, shot down on a Los Angeles street. The murderer may be a Japanese-American. The mixed race police duo tracks down the killer with the help of two painters, and their contacts in the Japanese community. Excellent pacing, great dialogue, the Fuller-tabloid feel, and beautiful establishing shots of Japantown, Los Angeles. Highly recommended if you can get your mitts on a copy.
Has anyone seen Baron of Arizona with Vincent Price? I think that one sounds interesting and funny, really want to see it.
I just watched 40 Guns. What a goodie. Amazing. The cyclone scene is incredible; as are all the shootout scenes. Beautiful use of cinemascope. Fuller could really compose a shot. His dialogue is great in this film, too. I recommend this one highly.
“Baron of Arizona” is great. Shrewd stuff.
Did anyone catch the great documentary on Fuller last night on TCM? I love this guy, kooky hair and yellowed teeth and all. He even talks in screaming boldface type — “and he has her in an — IRON GRIP! — so how can she get away?” One of the most entertaining figures ever. A real treat.

That’s a great way of putting it, Bobby.
