Godard's A Married Woman- where can it be found?

Ever since I fell in love with Godard’s films i’ve made it my own personal goal to see every one of his films from his classic period: Breathless —→ Weekend. I’ve managed to see All of them now except for [A Married Woman] and [2 or 3 Things I Know About Her].
I’m impatiently awaiting this summer’s criterion release of [2 or 3 things], but as that approaches ive been desperately looking for A Married Woman. I Know that it has a dvd release in the Eureka! masters of cinema series, but unless somebody lets me know otherwise, I’m under the impression that eureka isn’t distributed in America. Does anybody know if there is an american dvd release, where i could find it, or if the film will ever be added to the Criterion Collection?

Check Amazon. It’s being released next Tuesday by Koch-Lorber.

I’ve never seen it but I believe it has some thematic similarity to “2 or 3 Things I Know About Her”.

Yes, they’re taking pre-orders for it. I hope it stays on schedule, I wouldn’t mind seeing this again, although it’s not as radical a film style-wise as Godard’s other 60s work.

Macha Meril is good in it. It has some nice scenes of Paris.

The Masters of Cinema UK edition is one of the best DVDs yet produced. Highly recommended!

There is no shame in downloading torrents of hard to find films..

I just saw this. Excellent film. Am I violating the laws of cinema by liking this more than 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her?

hmm, i think so. cuz “2 or 3 things” is in the running for greatest godard of all-time (not saying it is). so by implication, you would have to be saying that “married woman” is in the running too! i dont know if i can back that horse.

I think A Married Woman and 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her are rather similar works, just that the former has a narrative tied around it while the latter is an essay film with a main character. Does 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her’s reputation lie in its ideas or its structure?

Its visual beauty, probably, first and foremost, Law, and also for the intimacy and ideas of Godard’s narration.

But you’re certainly allowed to like Une Femme Mariee better if that’s your personal preference! :)

everything. the revolutionary nature of it as a documentary, or as a fiction. when i first saw it, i remember having the feeling that i was seeing something utterly new and original and glorious. those feelings are rare. “2 or 3” is special. i was drooling when i first heard criterion would put it out, and im still drooling until i get a copy.

I have a copy of 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her (sorry for the bolding, I’m always torn between nothing, italics and bold since I already started bolding film titles here, I’ll go for consistency.). I think I will revisit the film sometime soon.

The first time I saw it, I had a lot of difficulty keeping up with what Godard due to the speed of his speech (and by extension, the speed of the subtitles) and was rather put off by some parts of it. This time, I shall read up first. I think I might still end up preferring A Married Woman, but I want to find out and appreciate what everyone likes about 2 or 3 Things.

(Sorry for the incoherence. Sleeping is very important.)
