WIM WENDERS – ROOM 666
During the Cannes Film Festival in 1982, Wim Wenders set-up a static camera in a room at the Hotel Martinez. He then invited a selection of directors to answer a series of questions on the future of cinema.

Each director was alloted 11 minutes (one 16mm reel of film) to answer the questions.

I have some of Jean Pierre Melville’s films and I think the Youtube video above was on the La Samourai DVD, if I’m not mistaken. Wasn’t there a suspicion that it could have been arson as to the cause of why his film studio was set on fire? Wasn’t he discriminated against because he was Jewish? I’m pretty sure he was Jewish. Does anybody know anything about this?

there’s a few channels on youtube that i don’t want to link to in case they get shut down….but on this one channel there’s a couple of cinéastes de notre temps for truffaut, cassavetes and bunuel, i am sergei parajanov, kurosawa interviewed by oshima, a portrait of shirley clarke and lots of fassbinder
anyone know if the cinéma de notre temps for aki kaurismaki is still on youtube? i can’t find it anymore…it was lovely…..
