Jesus
Fictional hero ?
i liked adam sandler in punch drunk love. definitely not my favorite ever, but it comes to mind
easily….SNAKE PLISSKEN
Judas!
Tom, you goddamn atheist!
Atheism is a belief. I believe in nothing! HAR HAR HAR.
Judas saved mankind through selling Jesus out. Gospels of Judas!
Robert Blake as John Wintergreen in Electra Glide in Blue
That was predestined ever since Adam and Eve left Eden, but Judas was still slime for selling Jesus out.
if it were not for Judas “selling Jesus out” he never would have “died for our sins.” man, the best fiction is the bible!
Are you saying the Bible’s fiction, you Fuck?
Smooth, Ivan. I’m sure Jesus is smiling down on you.
“My hero!”
I got carried away, but at least he’s smiling more for me than Yasser Arafat.
Now you’re gonna hate on the Palestinians?
Whatever happened to “Judge not…” and “Love one another”?
>>Judas saved mankind through selling Jesus out.<<
Is true. No selling out = no martyrdom = no Christian religion.
—Henry Fonda’s Juror #8 in Sidney Lumet’s “12 Angry Men”.
Toshirô Mifune’s character Kikuchiyo from Seven Samurai.
I’m not hating, but was he a pleasant person?
Just to defend @Simon:
A hero (in mythology, novels, film) is often unpleasant, or at least imperfect, at first.
He redeems himself (discovers his better self) through the adversities he has to face.
That’s exactly Mifune’s Kikuchiyo.
How about we play nice. Let’s start over. Disregard any extensions to the first Jesus comment. Harry and Tom, I apologize for my rudeness.
I’m curious though, I’ve never seen Judas portrayed as a hero, and wouldn’t he qualify as an anti-hero?
“Are you saying the Bible’s fiction, you Fuck?” Rude, that’s what is called rude? More like foul-mouthed.
Thank god Lenny Bruce said much “worse” with far less hate-filled intention.
anyhow. Heroes, heroes? David Carradine in Boxcar Bertha!
I get it.
You all know it’s Han Solo….(he was my childhood hero/idol)
Bruno S. playing Kaspar Hauser in “Jeder für sich und Gott gegen alle” :)
Indiana Jones! C’mon!
Ivan, Judas was portrayed as a strong and ethical character in ‘The Last Temptation of Christ’ and the aforementioned ‘Gospel of Judas’ depicts him as being loyal and only turning Jesus in at his own insistence. He’s heroic in that book because he did the necessary thing at the expense of his own good name. So if he is a hero I’d say he’s a tragic one but not really an anti-hero. As for an anti-hero, I nominate Sanjuro for the greatest of all time and for a romantic hero, I’m siding with Armands and Indiana Jones. Who else could it be!?
Bhudda, A.K.A. Siddhartha Shyakamuni
Bruce Lee in any of his films – he could clear out a whole town of bad guys single-handedly. Surely, he was the inspiration for the Kill Bill films. Uma vs. Bruce – now, that I would pay to see.
Ivan Gutierrez
I know. I’m overdoing it.
