Eastern Promises?
LOL good idea! “Rough-house” is a very parental phrase. Has anybody under 30 ever said that?
Sorry if I couldn’t post under the hour because I went to sleep. The answer was Y Tu Mama Tambien. Someone take over.
I’ll use two for one movie, since the first one is pretty vague, but I just found it funny:
“For vegans: There is use of horses in cavalry charges.”
“In a slapstick, bloodless scene, three men are shot dead and another is accidentally killed by a flying sword blade.”
Shit, I don’t know this one. Stumped.
Titus?
It was The General
@rock: I’ve never seen a Buster Keaton. At all. Shame on me. You can go again if you want.
I wish more would post here. These are funny.
I’ll go again if no one else is. I think it’s a fun idea.
“A man burns all of his clothing and stands nude (his bare buttocks and the silhouette of his body are visible)”
Stumped again…
It was The Aviator
I’ll go. Thanks, Rock.
Main characters treat females as sexual objects and talk crudely about their bodies throughout.
Kids?
Although honestly it could be almost any romcom or action movie.
Every movie ever made??
Gotta be some R-rated guy comedy. I’ll go with Superbad?
@rock: It’s a recent movie. Something you liked…
LOL Bijoux!
Hangover 2?
@rock: It’s pretty close…
HINT: It’s very recent.
Project X?
(ding ding ding!) Have a look yourself.
Ha. That movie was really dumb looking back, but I still enjoyed it. I have a weakness for dumb comedies though.
If I am allowed:
A mother doll is shown spanking her son on his butt.
A kitten is handled very roughly.
A child plays with fire in a way that might give ideas to impressionable viewers.
Coded talk for a contract killing will probably sail over most kids’ heads.
Lots of cigar smoking and beer drinking, even by kids.
Are those all from the same movie or separate ones?
A child plays with fire in a way that might give ideas to impressionable viewers.
LOL
The same movie
Do these two help:
“Dated use of the word “gypsy” maybe offensive to some.
One use of the word jackass, but is meant to be said as donkey."
The movie is very popular in certain circles.
^ pinocchio
We meet again. Good for you. Is it your turn?
No-Limb Joe
In honor of Matt Singer, I’d like to do his idea of a Parents Guide game into a thread here at MUBI. For some reason, this idea never took off and it kind of baffles me why. Rules are simple: Pick a sentence from any category of the Parents Guide of any movie in IMDB, and let us guess what movie it is from.
My suggestion for picking is pick one that is unique to a couple of movies, yet vague enough for us to think for a moment.
I’ll start:
Two young men rough-house in the public showers.
