The soundtrack’s first and only official release was on vinyl in December 2007, and only 2500 copies were made. There was a vinyl release in Japan, but it lacked both the songs Cat Stephens wrote for the film, and included 5 that weren’t even in it. I don’t like saying this, but to be honest your best option would be to download, because not only are the records incredibly hard to find, they’re likely to be outrageously priced.
Hope this was helpful.
really damn that sucks, you know any place I can download it?

what’s annoying, too, is that the vinyl release in 2007 toted itself as finally “making available what had been rare for so long” and “fulfilling film fanatatics” everywhere but only made 2,500 copies which sold out immediately.
second pressing, people!
SERIOUS!
Most of the songs are on Mona Bone Jakon and Tea for the Tillerman. I found both LPs for a couple bucks a piece and just made my own soundtrack. I’m missing a couple songs—-but close enough.
the two songs you won’t find on his albums are the first one (“don’t be shy”) and the ‘theme’ from the movie (“if you want to sing out”), as well as its respective “instrumental” versions on banjo, et cetera, throughout the film.
