@Drew – Oh, you’re a bad influence! (keep talking!) I’ve seen all of them (except a couple in the Bergman set). I love the extras too, and I also tend to only buy things I’ve already seen – those which I know I’m going to want to watch again. I think you have nailed my short list. I may sneak Ice Storm in there too ‘cause it’s so cheap. I know I’m getting Wings of Desire, if nothing else.
I went on a bit of a buying bender recently despite the tough economic times, which I video store down the street from where I work was closing, (though they are all non-Criterions; he didn’t even know what I meant when I asked). For between $2 and $4 each I picked up (all widescreen too): The Proposition, Dogville, Molholland Drive, Inland Empire, Spider (Cronenberg), Lost in Translation, Rescue Dawn, The Man Who Wasn’t There, and Manhunter. Whoo-hoo! (I also realized that I have really dark taste, LOL!)
Michelle, Isn’t Wings of Desire the best! Getting those films for $2-4 is incredible! I’m jealous.

Jason, BN employee discounts don’t work on sales. if you’re willing to drop the 25 bucks for the member card that is the best way to get discounts. that’s the reason i bought my member card was for the coupons & added discounts on Criterions.
Sorry I’ve been MIA on this thread. I was wondering if it was still going! any one take advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free DVD sale BN had all January? (goes until the end of business on 2/1). i held out for most of the month til last night when I saw we had Paris, Texas. that sealed the deal for me. I picked up Paris, Texas, Wings of Desire, and Monsoon Wedding
@mike @kndy BN did this sale twice in 2009. the first time was in August and the second time right around the holidays. i asked the music manager if there was any scoop in the wind about another 50 percent off sale, she said she hadn’t heard anything, but she’d tell me if there was (early) because i’m an addict. if/when i hear about it i’ll let ya’s know.
Dang! I was excited (and kind of exasperated) when I saw this again! The guy at my barnes & noble said that they do it twice a year… so… maybe sometime in the summer again??

I was about to bump this one again myself. The fact that nothing has been announced by this point indicates we’ll probably be waiting until summer. Damn.
I dont mind waiting. This is the scariest thing that happens to my bank account. It’s like Criterion is the aborting all my money bi-yearly.
It should happen again around June, but I’m not sure if it’ll happen again in the near future.
