I need your expertise. Can anyone think of a french new wave film (or a film by a french new wave director, if these are separable ideas) in which there is a scene where the characters are watching a movie or television? The screen of either must be clearly visible with the character in the shot. I’ve been able to find a few where the camera flickers from the movie screen to the audience, but that doesn’t really do me any good. I have a feeling, therefore, that a television shot might be more useful.
Preferrably not something from the Antoine Doinel cycle (I know there is that scene in Antoine & Colette where they are watching tv)…
