What is ‘The Auteurs’?
What happened?
Can we have a PREVIEW function for our lists as well? That would make things a lot easier (especially for perfectionists as if I am one hahaha!). Thank you!
I want some sort of netflix/mubi synchronization! Alsp, the ability to give half star ratings!
Can I suggest a “choose your language” option?
I hate to be anti-Spanish here, but it confuses me with all the movie titles in my language, when I have already learned the English title or the original title.
I know the Translation Feature is fairly new – at least to me – but more and more titles are showing up in Spanish, and I don’t know what they’re about until I check the people who were involved. It’s just… impractical.

but why did my MUBI search lead me to this (staging.mubi.com) server? Double weird.
I think there should be a some sort of a petition system for getting things passed, but anyway..
I think that were should have the option to EDIT ANY OF OUR POSTS IF WE ARE THE OP of the thread. Our own posts, no one elses. This will help with creating organized events, for example the director’s cup- We needed several different threads and separate posts; this sometimes led to confusion, and it would be much more convenient for people to see the information.
Yeah, that’s all.
Two things that would make MUBI be better for ME are:
1. When searching through people’s ratings it’d be nice to be able to put in some order (specifically rating, but also alphabetically, etc.)
2. The number of ratings each film has (how many people have rated the film)
1- I think everyone can rate a film easier if they are allowed to rate a film out of 10 stars, plus to half star feature.
2- I really want this one! Why aren’t we allowed to edit/delete our own posts on forums at anytime we want?
This may be asking a lot, but I think it would be pretty awesome if lists by year and by filmmaker were generated and organized automatically when you rate films. If someone asks your top ten from a given year, you can just go to your profile and look up the list created for that year. It would also be a nice way to maintain checklists created for director’s filmographies so you can see what you have and haven’t seen from certain directors.
1 – The ability to edit/delete thread posts.
2 – The ability to have favorite actors displayed on your profile, since you can see the directors but not the actors.
Please please… a better search (withing threads, by movie etc.).
The forums are so great here with so many intelligent people, but it’s very difficult to distinguish between people. Any chance we could ever get avatars or buttons to quote posts?
I asked for this before, but I would really, really enjoy the ability to reorder my favorite films and auteurs/cast members as I please, instead of having the ones I became a fan of last show up first, as it is at the moment.
Also, page numbers should be added to the top of forum threads as well. I’ll keep asking for this forever, I think…

I was actually just asking one of our lead developers about that earlier today. It’s on our list of upgrades for a final version, and hopefully we can it have ready to go in the near future!

Guys, regarding the ordering of favorite auteurs. Some of you may remember we used to have this back in the day, but once we added pagination to the favorite directors (necessary because some have hundreds), it made this considerably more complicated, and we haven’t had a chance to revisit it.
However one slight change is coming tonight which is that the order of favorite auteurs currently goes (more or less) from earliest favorite to latest favorite (opposite of films). Tonight a deploy is coming that reverses this. Technically this makes it possible to control the order by un-fanning and re-fanning your top 10. A pain I know, but it will be at least 6 months before we have time to do anything more.

For the record, I had a dream last night where the ratings system was converted to 10-stars and half stars and I have never been under so much stress in my life. I knew I’d have to go back and re-rate all of the films I’d seen and even have to re-watch some for clarification.
This is a terrible idea and I would like to speak out as a major opponent to a ten-star system. I say this confidently both consciously and unconsciously.
