Maybe I haven’t been going to the right places, but the only place I’ve heard a lot of hype for the Tree of Life is these Mubi threads complaining about the hype.

Right, at this point I should really be fighting to improve the good name of fanboys on “the mubi.”
I can only speak for myself so I’ll say this: I have an adverse reaction to hype, and Tree of Life may just be the example of the most concentrated and melodramatic hype I’ve yet encountered. I like Malick. I want to see the film. But… it’s become difficult for me.
