basically reads like a list of my favourite films
Does anyone know where I can ee Chronicle of the Years of Fire?
I’ve seen 23. This list means a lot more than the Oscars. An all-time top 5 of say, Dolce Vita, Blowup, Third Man, Leopard, Viridiana > any 5 Best Picture winners. And the recent winners, say Amour, Tree of Life, Uncle Boonmee, The White Ribbon compared to shit like King’s Speech, Artist, Hurt Locker shows that it’s not even close nowadays either.
Rosetta, The Pianist, Pulp Fiction, 4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days, Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, Amour, The White Ribbon, Tree of Life, Dolce Vita, Viridiana, Blow-Up, Leopard, Third Man, L’Enfant, Fahrenheit 9/11, Taste of Cherry, Under the Sun of Satan, Apocalypse Now, Taxi Driver, Paris, Texas, The Conversation, If, A Man and a Woman, Black Orpheus.
That appears to be it, but still several.
B-rad, I think we can agree that whether or not they choose to blankly admit it, cinephiles are always curious to see who wins the Palme d’or, unlike the Oscar for Best Picture.
