They don’t sell physical products, like DVDs, I believe. You pay via credit card to watch the films they have available for streaming online. If that’s what you’re asking about, the answer is right there in the FAQ.
Quoted from the FAQ -
How do I watch films on The Auteurs?
Simple! Most of the films on our site can be watched for free. Just sign up, login, and they are yours for the watching. For the chance to watch our newest acquisitions and additions to our library first, we do charge a small fee per film.
To become a user, simply register a username with a valid email, and you can immediately watch almost any movie on the site for free! It’s just that easy.
In which countries does your service work?
We’re set up to deliver movies pretty much anywhere in the world. However, we license movies for specific territories, and often not all territories are available for a given movie. Visiting the profile page of any of our films will inform you of which areas the film can be viewed from. Our technology will also automatically check to see if the movie you want to view is available in your territory.
What format are your films shown?
All our films are streamed in high-definition in their original aspect ratio. If a film is in a foreign language, we show it with English subtitles.
Can I watch movies on my TV?
Absolutely! The resolution of our movies are high enough for you to enjoy them on your TV. To watch our films on your TV you will need a PC to TV cable, which is a cord that connects to the computer and displays the image from your monitor on your television. This allows you to watch internet video on a real TV set.
Confused? So were too we the first time we did it. Please e-mail us at support@theauteurs.com if you have any questions.
How do you handle credit card information?
All credit card transactions are completed by Authorize.net, a reputable provider. Once your credit card has been authorized, we immediately delete all your payment information from our servers. Your billing information is transmitted using a secure Internet connection (SSL), certified by GeoTrust. We’re a friendly bunch, and we want to make you happy, so we’re working hard to make sure you have a safe shopping experience.
Thanks so much for the help. It seems that I’m half blind :P
I just bought $10 worth of credits but it seems I can’t spend them anywhere! I thought maybe having credits on my account would trigger some “buy/watch” buttons on some movie profiles, but no… I can still only watch the 12 free movies that Auteurs have picked out.
Is this the way it’s supposed to be or am I missing something in the way I navigate the site? How does a movie profile look when it’s possible to stream the movie for $5?
I’ve read the faq and the forums, but could use a clearer handling of the whole “most movies are available to everyone”-issue. What seems to be the case in Denmark at least is “NO movies are available anyone.”
I don’t know what to tell you, Ronnitino. Here in the USA, when you go to The Library section, it automatically lists all films that are available to view online – free or not. I recommend emailing support, or writing in the thread about making The Auteurs “awesome”.
I have the same issue and I’m Canadian. I suggest that you mail support or PM the creator of the “Make The Auteur’s awesome topic” as he/she seems to be involved in the running of the site.

I was wondering why the site looked to slick and had online streaming videos. Then I read the FAQ, you also sell movies through the site. That said, where could I?
