I don’t think you have to necessarily care about the Oscars to be interested in this story. I find it interesting how one small thing can pretty much can create a huge amount of negative buzz and in return possibly take away what seemed like a certainty.

I don’t believe this whole thing could affect the chances of the movie. The Hurt Locker is still a favorite. And the big mayority of members sure submitted their votes before this little gaffe becomes public.
