Great news on the Ipad app…

Any update on this?

Doris

Can you comment on availability for Droid as well as iPad? Is the new app HTML5 based and if so will it be OS independent? (New to both Droid and mubi here…)

Kyle Lewis

Will it be just an iPad app or is iPhone going to be included.

No updates on this front yet, guys, thanks for inquiring.

Malik

Unless Steve Jobs can control it, it won’t be on the iPad. That’s the rule of thumb for everything Apple.

I can’t wait!

Horray! Cant wait for the ipad app. Another app, Skyfire, let’s you use flash on websites. Don’t know what it’s like though. They are also promising an ipad version :-)

AirPlay support please so we can use the iPad to watch movies on the big screen via AppleTV.

tried the skyfire ipad app with mubi.com. It works (i.e. allows you to watch vids), but vid screen is small. Roll on Feb for the mubi ipad app :_)

mbd

Any chance of an updated ETA? Obviously the Feb estimate has been passed.

Does Adobe’s recent announcement have an impact on a faster timeline? They wrote a couple of days ago:

> We began previewing new video streaming technology today at the NAB (National Association of
> Broadcasters) Conference in Las Vegas. Built on the Adobe Flash Media Server these new
> capabilities are another demonstration against our vision of helping content publishers stream
> protected video to more mobile devices, including the Apple iPad 2, Samsung TVs, and the
> Motorola Xoom tablet and Atrix smartphone.

Any thoughts on the iPad from a moderator?

Just found this on another thread – looks like Fall 2011 -

I’m chomping. At the bit for this one. I rarely use my laptop any more. IPad is it, especially when I’m travelling. Can’t wait for this to happen.

davewb

They could always go the vudu.com route – iPad friendly website with html5 vids.

Ditching my Mubi account. As I said over a year ago I joined assuming it had the iPad support that most other sites have and February 2011 came and went and here we are a year later and still no dice.

Maybe I’ll revisit this site sometime down the road. Good luck with the site.

If you really can’t wait I don’t understand why you just don’t use it on your Ipad already. I have a Android Xperia Arc and just out of interest tried Mubi through the Opera browser, watching the opening of 8 1/2 worked completely fine. Would I want to watch a entire film on my mobile? Fuck no, I have my television for that, it’s only a 4.2 inch screen but I’m sure there’s something for pads to hold you over.

Hi there,

Are there any possibility to watch mubi with apps like Skyfire that can play flash content? I tried with skyfire but it still says upgrade your flash player. Maybe with another app we can watch mubi on ipad.

Or you can just release the IPAD app that you promised? any news?

Any news about iPad compatibility?

Felix

WE WANT IPAD SUPPORT… In fact, I canceled my subscription after a month since there is STILL no iPad support! Can’t be that hard to reconvert all the movies into mpeg4/h264 for a compatible HTML5 player.

I know a handful of people who say they would love to use MUBI but they don’t want to subscribe to it unless they can watch movies on the iPad. It’s a real shame!

I’m unsubscribing to this thread. Obviously they have no intention of producing an iPad app and keep promising such just to get new subscribers to waste money.

Netflix has had iPad ability for years. Vimeo rolled out an iPad-friendly version of their website within weeks. Mubi clearly can’t get their act together. Not worth even paying attention to anymore.

mbd

Agreed, I’ve given up on this.

I guess 84 million iPads users isn’t enough for them to want to pay attention.

Meg ͏

android ditto I have been driven crazy trying to stream to my galaxy tablet and thinking I might also have to cancel my subscription – it was one of the reasons I bought the tab!

SmokeyPSD

Your cancelling subscriptions because you can’t watch films on your small ipad screens? I can understand wanting support as a supplement maybe for occasional short film viewing but the be all end all for your subscription? That’s just ridiculous in my view…

nunopi

I don’t have any computer at home, that is why I really want an iPad app.
And with an Apple TV, you can watch movies on your TV via your iPad, not just on a small screen.
