Film and music are my two pride and joys. I can’t live without either one and have careers in both
As much as I love film, it takes 5th place behind art (in many forms including painting, graphic design, multimedia), music, photography and writing. But it does come BEFORE food and alcohol.
What’s with the Roman Catholic comment. A great big WTF.
Film, music, literature, food, liquors and women.
Just forget about it, Strawdawg.
Eggman: Thanks, I take your meaning. Please realize mine was more ironical, as is my nature.
JPB: “Truth is beauty and beauty is truth – that’s all you need to know,” eh?
This is everything I love: cinema, Formula 1, women.
Life is a great time for me… LOL
I love literature, music, playing music, paintings, photography, all art….I want to be a filmmaker, writer, musician, painter, photographer haha….I love thrift stores, antiques, I’m going to school for carpentry, I want to repair antiques, guitars, whatever and make stuff, I want to learn upholstery and tailoring, I want to be a chef or rather just be Anthony Bourdain, I have a long list of places I want to see, I’m interested in politics, philosophy, history, I want to be a political activist…..not enough time in the day……….I think i’ll die unsatisfied….maybe i’m just really selfish……
This is everything I love: cinema, Formula 1, women.
Life is a great time for me… LOL
mmmmmm . . . must . . . have . . . pizza . . . Pizza PIzza PIZza PIZZa PIZZA!!! I MUST HAVE PIZZA!!!!!!
film, boys, cheese
Film and Football (soccer).
Yes, I call it Football. Anyone have a problem with that?
Col. Dax, Behold… The Arctopus is fantastic and yes i do agree that technical usic like that gives you a great perspective on film and other art in general.
But yes, I love film the most, but music came first
Wife and children. All art is merely a medium through which I can greater appreciate the beauty of family, of love.
That said, aye, I have a passion for film that exceeds all other interests. The home theater is stocked with nearly 3,000 titles, for gawd’s sake, in every genre, spanning every decade since the dawn of cinema, and representing countries from almost every continent on earth.
Then there’s the books. Life without literature is meaningless, especially nice, leather-bound first editions, when you are a tactile person. Treasure hunting for rare tomes in used book stores is a hobby.
Music — jazz, psychedelic rock, classical — especially Beethoven, Mozart, List and Dvorak.
Saltwater fishing, mountain biking, hiking, good wine. And Beer.
And sex.
And work, which is surprisingly soul satisfying. Plus, work provides the green money that enables the purchase of Criterions.
Music was my first love.
Music
really is my one true passion. Film doesn’t even come close (sorry). I can listen to almost everything. Also part-time DJ specializing in everything between ‘76-’84: Punk, Post-Punk, No-Wave, Punk-Funk, Synthpop, New Wave, Goth, Death Rock, Shoegaze, Cold Wave, Minimal Electro.
Film is somewhere around the 7th or 8th on my top ten list. First is art, I guess commercial art mostly since that became a career. Second is music, esp. Jazz/ R&B/ Rock, listening to and earning a living playing on the side. They’re all followed by Football (yes, Soccer), food, alcohol and women, not in order but can come as one. That’s what weekends are for!
Wife, daughter, music, Heart of Midlothian Football Club, Cycling (Lemond over Armstrong), Space Exploration and cinema.
Skateboarding, i shred on my shred sled everyday.
I like vanilla.
whiskey, dark beer, records, sex, and books take up some of my love too.
Beauty, and the destruction of Beauty.
i not only love the beautiful in life, but I love to find the beauty within destruction, mutation, and perversion.
but as far as concrete ‘Loves’ of my life, Film is the top, but it took a progression to get me to this point. In the beginning I was obsessed with animals, and then I became obsessed with how and why things worked, and then I progressed to music (which will always have a VERY large part of my heart), and from there I delved into the deep pool of literature, where I definitly wade often, and this inevitably led to film. i love every aspect of film. From talking about which films I like and why, to talking about how and why films work in their intended ways, to talking about directors bodies of work, to talking about the philosophical theories on film, I love it all!! it is the best!
Oh, and what can I say, sex drugs and rock & roll!
I also enjoy music, literature, animals, sports, nature, architecture, among other things.. alcohol, women, etc..
alcohol and sehccks.
I do love other arts than film, but cannot find the time to go as deeply into them.
Drum and bass. Probably my first love. I’d skip a world premier screening if I could see anyone from hospital records live.
i am only in love with myself…as any self respecting person should be.
Women leave, the dvds & the vhs dont. Why have a real life when you can rant about Eric Rohmer?
For me, music and film are like a couple of long-distance runners (neither of them lonely), alternately edging in front.
I mix my passion for movies with computers.
