Is there any love for "The Lovely Bones?"

I understand that Mark Whalbergs’ acting wasn’t that great and the movie did not go in the same direction as the book, but how can you ignore the cineamatography or the acting of Saorise Ronan and Stanley Tucci? I was wondering is there any love for “The Lovely Bones” from anyone on Mubi?

I just feel like the film could have been a fantastic study of grief and loss like the novel. Instead Peter Jackson was just like “Hey! This is a good chance for me to show what heaven looks like using CGI!!!!” And yeah Mark Whalberg was horrible. That charactert was so damn important and he just completely blew it.

Only if it means we’ll see less of Jackson

I liked this film

None whatsoever. After he dissed King Kong with his “homage” we can only hope we won’t be seeing Jackson for a while.
