I’m trying to gather some clips from classic Italian or Italian art films that have scenes of families celebrating the holidays or sitting around the table for a big family celebration. Ideally they’d be celebrating Christmas.
I can’t think of one movie where this happens.
Can anyone help? Who has suggestions??
I am Love maybe? Or The Family (Scola), though my memory is vague
Surely there’s a Christmas scene in Amarcord, right? I can’t really think of it, but I feel like it has to be in there somewhere!
The Family looks promising. Thanks Kenji.
Drunken FFOO I cant remember in Amarcord i will investigate.
No, there’s no Christmas scene in AMARCORD. There’s a big family dinner scene, yes, but not a celebration.
Parenti serpenti directed by Mario Monicelli
Hell yeah Blue Lips.
Renato Salvatori, Giovanna Ralli, Leo Genn, Peter Baldwin and Sergei Bondarchuk in Rossellini’s masterpiece Era notte a Roma.
Runner-up: Germi’s Il ferroviere
Il Natale che quasi non fu
The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t
A MAJOR freakout when I was a kid.
Ha wait, why a freakout?
the lead villain is extremely creepy with some sort of plastic mask…look for it…ick.
Directed by, of all people, Rosanno Brazzi(!)
I was going to post the clip of the peacock in the snow from Amarcord but then I read more closely.
