Ken Russells THE DEVILS and Michael Manns THE KEEP

The Devils was never released on Anchor Bay. I have the Angel fire version too. Not the best but better than not having it at all…which is still kind of unacceptable considering the rubbish getting released. Im glad Black Narcissus is getting a proper HD release but wish criterion would get their act together and release the truly great films that are currently unavailable.Theres great stuff out there like the the two films ive already mentioned ad nauseum plus One eyed Jacks, Seconds…and if Criterion insist on rereleasing previously released product, how about Andrei Rublev in anamorphic.

Uh, dude. Don’t you think this is awfully similar to the thread you started five hours ago. Temperance, temperance.

[The idea that THE KEEP should be out on Criterion is, however, no less humorous than it was earlier.]

Warners is holding on to their rights to The Devils without giving it a proper release. Criterion will likely never get it since WB keeps everything they have away from them.

HKFlix.com used to have a (basically bootlegged) copy of Ken Russell’s The Devils. Whilst trying to find the link, I learned that HKFlix.com has gone out of business. Very sad. At any rate, an eye out over eBay should yield the occasional used copy now and then, methinks.
