Seen EL TOPO and I love it. Is HOLY MOUNTAIN similar?
It’s beyond El Topo…let’s just put it that way.
We had a Jodorowsky season over in the UK late last year. My friend was doing a documentary about it and interviewed Alejandro and Brontis (his son). I watched a play (The Gorilla) that Brontis acted in and Alejandro directed, and there was loads of exhibitions and events going on as well.
But yeah, the King Shot funds fell through apparently, and Sons of El Topo is being made.
Any news concerning King Shot?! I’ve just checked IMDB and the movie vanished from it… Instead, in Jodorowsky’s profile there is a new movie in production: “Abel Cain”….
King Shot is being postponed as “Abel Cain” (which is the sequel to El Topo) has been given full funds to go ahead, and will definitely be happening. Jodorwosky’s in pre-production on it right now.
Thanks @NathanW :)
Do you know who is financing it? Are Lynch, Asia Argento, Udo Kier out of the project?
It’s not being produced by Lynch or Ubsurda. It’s being financed by a few Russian producers-
Such a shame, that this production got dropped :(

The Holy Mountain is the trippiest film you will ever see. That’s what you should know going into it. It’s also amazing (but I’d suggest seeing El Topo first)
