Just wanted to mention:
The Kino disc referenced in that DVD Beaver review has been replaced-as least as a Region 1 disc—by a superior two disc set. From Dave Kehr’s review:
“[the new version is a] re-creation of the American version, as it was edited under Murnau’s supervision at MGM, has now been released by Kino International, replacing (or supplementing) Kino’s earlier release of a version cobbled together by the German producers in 1930, after their original negative had worn out. The image quality is far superior to any print available before. And it is also a substantially different film, with superior compositions, performances and special effects, reflecting Murnau’s final choices from the vast amount of material he created during production.
This amazing piece of scholarship is the work of Luciano Berriatúa of the Filmoteca Española, who has also assembled a documentary, included on the Kino disc, comparing sequences from the various surviving versions side by side."

The MOS DVD of “Faust” has a commentary track by Bill Krohn and yours truly.
Are you any good on that, David? :)
Has anyone seen the MOS Lubitsch in Berlin who can compare it to the Kino Lubitsch in Berlin? It’s Lubitsch season in my head.
THE MOS commentary is good!!! just listened to most of it earlier today.
nice one David :-)
The MoC set of the Lubitsch films look a great deal better than those in the Kino set. I think so anyway. You could probably pick it up at a lesser price than the kino one. They often include it in their monthly sales newsletter.

I am interested in buying this on DVD and Kino just released a newly restored version of it. I was wondering whether or not it was better than Masters of Cinema’s release of Faust. by better I generally mean video/audio quality but extras are important too.
