La Double Vie de Véronique

Jirin, the CC release is the original cut, with the American ending as a supplement.

I would love & would pay to see each differing version seperately.

Rewatched Keislowski’s RED yesterday eve & it made me yearn to rewatch Double Vie.

The first time I watched this film, it surrounded me.
Even though it was on a modest TV screen, I was lost inside it.
It blinded my periphery. It overtook the whole room. It swallowed me up.

Hey NEH:
i love the previous comment.

haha what did you like about it?

RWPIII,
There are two things that I enjoyed about that comment:

1. That it was written in stanza, which is a typographical aesthetic to which I am innately drawn.
&
2. The line: “her touching the tree – something fully realized, solid & unconscious.”

@ NEH
I asked b/c, since re-reading it, I’ve been re-thinking it.

I saw this film a long time ago and it still remains one of my favorites. The opening scenes are very vivid to me still. Intuitive, yes. Poetic, yes. Mysterious, that too. Exactly why I love it so much.

My first film of Kieslowski that makes me fall in love with his work…. It has very relaxing cinematography, has great performances by Irene Jacob and all that classical singing. It is indeed the finest movie I’ve ever seen. It was December 24, 2009 and it made my christmas day here in the Philippines cold and full of mystery…. There something about this film that makes me relax, even if the concept is creepy though…
