I’ve just seen the movie, Late Spring, a great movie by a great director. The only bad thing was that, the version was not a criterion release, but I’m looking forward to watching the criterion in a near future.

let me and also other Ozu’s fan know, , what’s your opinion of the movie, and the unique world that you can only find in a movie by this director?

You know, i also watched a movie, but an American classic one, Laura (1944 – Otto Preminger) yesterday, and it was a great movie too. but note the difference between an American film noir and an eastern, Ozu’ish film, and their both greatness. the scenery, people and their relations, the meaning and depicting of Love, coldness and warmth, edit and cinematography, plain and fancy scripts and many other things..

Now, lets talk about Ozu and the attributes of his movies which made him known as a great director!
