Yeah, she’s quite a familiar beauty. She was great in Chabrol’s “Le Bonne Femmes”, a personal favorite of mine, and of course in “Les Mistons”. I’m only familiar with her early movies, except for “The Prisoners”, which came out in the ‘80s. Wasn’t she on that ‘yeh-yeh’ musical “Le Idoles”?
That’s right, Noel – she was in Les Idoles, which also starred Bulle Ogier in an early role. As you mention Chabrol in our post, you might like to seek out two from the 80s with Lafont – Masques, already mentioned, and also Inspecteur Lavardin, her appearance in which is especially poignant considering Chabrol’s previous film (which also featured the Lavardin character) starred her daughter Pauline, who died shortly afterwards.
What’s the one where she’s a maid…also has Belmondo?

I’ve just finished watching her in this, and as ever she impressed me hugely. Still a very striking woman, and with such an interesting face. She really gave an excellent, assured performance here, and carried the whole film (although the actors playing her grandchildren were also fairly convincing.) She’s been in films from masters such as Truffaut ( Les Mistons ), Rivette ( Noroit ) and Chabrol ( Masques ), and of course was unforgettable in the searing The Mother & the Whore (impressive, as her role was relatively thankless compared to the other two). She also gives a pretty odd performance in the bizarre Lee Marvin flick Dog Day. I’d happy to watch pretty much anything she’s in (i.e., even Dog Day).
Anyone else a fan?
