There’s the trailer
I haven’t seen a whole lot of Jim Jarmusch. I know there are a number of fans on here.
Looks pretty cool

It looks good, but I’ll have to wait and see since I’m kinda ambivalent right now…

Count me in—interestingly it has a J-P Melville feel to the trailer.

Looks like Chris Doyle had his A game on this one. And music by Boris. That right there is pure dope.

Shot by Doyle!

I want to be super excited for this, but without Jarmusch’s name, that trailer does absolutely nothing for me.

This however, will not stop me from seeing the film as soon as possible.

I always look forward to a new Jarmusch film. My faves of his are Dead Man, Stranger then Paradise and Night on Earth.

DEAR GOD…..I had not heard about this til now but Jim Jarmusch + Chris Doyle + Boris = Fucking Win!

This looks so different and unique from anything else Jarmusch has done. I’m so glad he has taken this direction, I liked ‘Broken flowers’ but I though it was surely the decline of him, glad I seem to be proven wrong.

Also Boris and Chris Doyle only increase my enthusiasm for this.

I might get slapped for this, but who are Boris and Doyle?

strawdawg

Don’t answer, or slap because I just found out.

@Strawdawg

Christopher Doyle is the cinematographer who gave most of Wong Kar-Wai’s films their dreamy, hyperkinetically neon, but relaxing look (i.e. Chungking Express, Fallen Angels, Happy Together— actually his entire filmography except “My Blueberry nights” and “As Tears Go By”). He also worked with Edward Yang. He’s an Australian who made a name for himself in Hong Kong first; then, in the rest of the world.

Boris anyone?

Crap Monster

Boris is only the greatest musical act to ever live!!!

no but seriously, they are a pretty versatile and prolific japanese rock band who have done everything from noise, drone, stoner doom, to sludge.

It’s sad that films are only being scored with noise/feedback until now.

Bobby Wise

that first clip made me nervous. seemed a little too close to “no country for old men”. but hopefully jarmusch will subvert the stereotypical “killer waiting for you in the dark” scene.

second clip looks good. i dont think i’ve ever heard people talk about movies as pop culture in a jarmusch film.

Jonathan Rosenbaum has posted on his website about the film:

Hihi! been waiting a couple of years now, for this one. Any news on a Blu Ray release?

I read a bit of Glen Kenny’s review (not too much) but it was extremely positive.

Also how cool is this ad?

One of my favorite cinephile moments was getting to see “Broken Flowers” and Bergman’s last film “Saraband” on the same day. I look forward to finally see this one as well.
